Both Frank and I knew Dennis from many years ago, Frank was in Dennis' class in Ramona and I first met Dennis when he worked for my parents his senior year in high school and for some years after. I last saw him in 1984 when I worked for the Alvord School District.
He will always be remembered by us as a good man, a kind person and a sympathetic soul. We send our deepest sympathies to his wife and daughter.

Chris and Kennedy will both see Saturday many unknown people to them . These are those who will be their from 45 and 50 yrs past in Dennis life. Your Husband and Father are a Riverside Legend and one Hell of a Man. Everyone has a Dennis  Van Houten story not one of them Bad.

Dear Chris and Kennedy...I am so so sorry for your loss of Dennis.  I always liked his spirit and sense of humor.  Although, we did not know each other very well, I will miss him and  his challenge to people who who were fans of the Chicogo Cubs! Would bet that now he is in Heaven the Cubs will do better next year.  
Kennedy...You were the "joy of  his life"... MAKE HIM PROUD!

Chris and Kennedy,  I think that Dennis's favorite part of his job at Alvord High was being a coach.   The kids loved playing and Dennis was an inspiration to them.   Know that you are in my thoughts.

Back in the day Dennis was my neighbor, friend, and roomie. When my oldest son was born, Dennis carried him into our house, as we returned from the hospital. He was a hell of a drummer, and all around good people.

As you well know, Dennis was an exceptional husband and a
 loving father to Kennedy. He called me one day and asked if I was willing to come work at Alvord. We sure had our differences, but we also shared laughter and sadness. I will never forget Dennis.
