Derek Andrew Escarcega was born on August 21, 1969 in Riverside, California and passed away on June 13, 2021. He resided in Riverside for 51 years. He attended Madison Elementary, Chemawa Middle, and graduated from Ramona High in 1987. Derek was the life of the party and lived life to the fullest. He was a friend to everyone and touched so many people’s lives in so many ways. Derek “Gubba” Escarcega was one of a kind. He lived for his family and was devoted to his girls. He is survived by his wife and partner of 32 years, Maria Escarcega; his two daughters, Kiana Escarcega and Keiley Escarcega; his mother Clara Escarcega; his father Michael Escarcega; and his brothers Mike Escarcega and Jaime Escarcega. Derek is also survived by in-laws, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents, as well as numerous friends who will all miss him greatly.
