Francisco Mendez

Francisco “Kio” Mendez was born on July 8, 1992, to parents Blanca Rios and Ruben Mendez. He was the second oldest of six siblings: his older brother Ruben, and his younger sisters Stephanie, Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Miranda. Kio always saw the best in every situation and maintained a positive outlook. He consistently wore a smile, even during the most challenging times in life.

Kio remained in Riverside, where he started a beautiful life with his beloved partner, Angelica. Despite each of us starting our own families, Kio never failed to say “I love you, sister/brother” and “take care” after every interaction. He was genuinely kind and compassionate.

Kio was a devoted father to his three children, Andrew, Laila, and Matthew. He cherished his role as a father above all else, finding profound joy in spending quality time with his family and creating beautiful, lasting memories. Kio loved outdoor activities, often taking long hikes and early morning walks to appreciate nature's beauty with his loved ones. He also had a passion for arts and crafts, treasuring those special moments of love and creativity shared with his children. His unwavering love for his family was the foundation of his life.

Though Kio's time with us was far too short, his legacy of love and joy will live on through his family and friends. His presence in our lives was a gift we will forever cherish, along with his big, beautiful smile.

A visitation for Francisco will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92504. A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4824 Jones Ave, Riverside, CA 92505.
