It’s hard to define what a favorite memory is when it comes to Gustavo. I would say mine is his infectious smile, as I worked with him for nearly 20 years at RCCD.  Later he would become my office mate for the last two years he worked at RCC before retiring, though he often referred to me as his celly in a good way of course. Not enough words can convey the loss I believe many of us feel, however, it is my privilege to have been his celly’.  RIP

I had the pleasure to work with Gustavo for over 25 years and in that time, we had a great friendship.  He was honest, loyal, hardworking but most of all dependable.  He will be missed!



Gus has touched so many lives. I met Gus the first time in 2002. He was on the committee of my job interview. His genuine  smile made me feel comfortable. He dedicated every day of his life to make sure all of of our rights are preserved. he showed everyone one of us, that we are worth his time and attention. Rest in peace my friend. May the angels carry your beautiful soul to the highest heaven.

I met Gustavo Segura in 2008 at the Riverside Community College District.  Gustavo was an amazing friend, colleague, union leader,  mentor, and family man.  He is the whole reason I got involved with the California School Employee Association. He made such an impact on so many people's lives, and genuinely cared about helping people.  He was a true servant leader, and mentored me for many years.   This is such a great loss , and my sincerest condolences go out to the Segura family.  May you rest in peace Gustavo.
