

On January 7th, 1960, John Filipek was born in the small Nowa Huta district of Krakow, Poland. John was the oldest son of Engineer Jan Filipek and his wife Zofia Filipek. John was the older brother to Wes Filipek; Jan and Zofia’s second child. Both boys were raised in a home filled with love and discipline, this is were John grew up and matured into the man we remember him as.
John academically had achieved so much, after leaving high school he enrolled at the Electrical University of Krakow. John competed in the college Olympics for chemistry and mathematics and was the first place contestant for two years in a row. Along side his academics he was also heavily involved with his church and for any spare time he had he played tennis for a league in Krakow. In 1981 John and his family moved to the United States of America. He quickly enrolled into another school to finish his degree in computer programming, shortly after he started working for the Wells Fargo bank, eventually becoming in charge of the whole financial programming division. In 1993 John married Joanna, four years later the happy couple welcomed their daughter Karina into the world. Out of all the things John has achieved, his greatest accomplishment was his baby girl. John along with his wife and daughter moved to New York so he can pursue working with larger banking firms. Johns father was diagnosed with cancer, shortly after he had heard the news he moved to Corona, California to help and live with his parents. On August 16, 2013 John passed away. Throughout his life John has touched the hearts of his family and friends, his love will stay with us forever.
