John was born on August 7, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa and had been a resident of Riverside for more than 40 years. John served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a Civil Engineer in Southern California for nearly 50 years. He was also a long time active member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church.
John loved cheering for Notre Dame football. You could often find him at model train shows looking for prized pieces for his Lionel train collection. He also found pleasure listening to the Boston Pops, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Moira and son-in-law, Hans; grandchildren, Aaron, Rachael (Kanin); his brothers: Larry (Deborah), Paul (MaryBeth), Steve (MaryAnn), and sister, Jayne (Tom).
He is predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Deborah; son, Jared; and sister, Beth.
A mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, February 6 at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church. Burial will be at Olivewood Cemetery.
