Josephine Fontana Eckenrod

JOSEPHINE FONTANA ECKENROD Age 87, resident of Corona, CA for 1 year, formerly of Riverside for 6 years and Fontana for 50 years, passed away peacefully in Corona, CA with her family at her side on June 17, 2010. She was the daughter of her late Italian Immigrant parents, Luigi Fontana and Ida Marie Folsone. She was the fifth of eight daughters and was born in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania on September 29, 1922. She was an avid bingo player, loved cards, singing and dancing. She was also a previous member of Moose Lodge, AARPS of Fontana, The Sons of Italy in Fontana and previous member of St. George's Church in Fontana. She was a blessing to many people, and will be missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Eckenrod on February 10, 1995 and two sisters, Sara and Jean. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Eckenrod-Mitchell; her sons, Jesse Eckenrod (Lavonda) and Bill Eckenrod (Mary Beth); grandchildren, Lisa Mitchell, Susan Mitchell-Ragsac, Christy Schipansky, Jace Eckenrod, Chris Mitchell, Miranda Eckenrod-Koperno and David Eckenrod; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Carmella, Rosie, Angeline, Christine and Rosemarie.
