

Leoncia Merino Duzon was born on September 12, 1929 in Infanta, Pangasinan, Philippines to Gregorio and Dominga Merino. She was a resident of Los Angeles County for 11 years and Riverside County for 27 years. Leoncia passed away on March 31, 2017 at the age of 88.
At age 19, she completed her Associate Degree in teaching. She was an elementary school teacher in the Philippines for 21 years. She moved to United States in 1978 to join the rest of the family. She worked for Tomy Toys and Starcrest of California where she met many friends.
Leoncia is survived by her husband for 63 years Felixberto P. Duzon Sr, children Virginia Mina, Evelyn Soriano, Myrna Chong, Felixberto Duzon Jr, Virgilio Duzon, son-in-laws Ceferino Soriano, Robert Chong, Jun Calvario, grandchildren Jerryl Soriano, Eilleen Carpo, Ashley Soriano, Bryan Duzon, Brandon Duzon, grandson-in-law Jon Erik Carpo, great grandchildren Zoey Carpo, Zachary Carpo, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Pacita Bernal.
Leoncia enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a high spirited person. She had a passion for dancing, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She loved everyone, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She welcomed everyone and treated them as her family. She was a member of The Original Urdanetanians which she participated in planning events and performed group entertainments.
Leoncia and her husband were avid gardeners. They grew fruit trees and plants such as orchids, tropical flowers and Filipino vegetables. Their backyard was always full of blooming flowers and vegetables which they shared with friends or cooked for the family.
Loving memories of Leoncia will never die, as years roll on and days pass by. In our hearts, we will treasure memories of her as precious gift.
