

Manuel was born on February 3, 1942 in Hondo, Texas and went home peacefully on March 14, 2026 in San Marcos, California. He is preceded in death by his mother, Senaida and father, Manuel Sr., his sisters, Victoria, Nicolasa, Mary, Carmen, Lupe and brothers, Andy and John.
He is survived by his family, Gloria Herrera and their three children, daughter Patricia, son and daughter in law, Steven and Gloria Herrera, grandsons, Nicolas and Noah and granddaughter, Marisa, daughter and son in law, Joy (Herrera) and Scott Andrews, grandsons Joseph, Samuel and Joshua and granddaughter Naomi.
Manuel lived most of his life in Corona, where he attended local schools when not helping support his family by picking fruit up north. After high school he worked for Interpace, Northup and Alcoa. He then went on to work for Pepsi Cola for 27 years, retiring in 1999. While retired, he worked part time for the Corona-Norco Unified School District, finally retiring in 2010. He lived in San Antonio, Texas near family for a few years before finally settling in San Marcos, California.
Fun trips, as well as his children and grandchildren’s jobs and activities took him all over the US. Manuel had visited several states and cities including Hawaii, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cabo San Lucas, Santa Barbara, Washington DC, Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma City where he proudly watched Joy play in the Women’s Softball College World Series.
Manuel enjoyed fishing, camping, watching Dodger baseball and gardening. He took great pleasure in watching his children and grandchildren grow up and was extremely proud of each one. Manuel worked hard at everything he did. He was a wonderful provider, a servant to others, the steady rock of his family and possessed a sense of humor that only he could supply to those around him.
Husband, dad, grandpa, Manny, Tio Meño will be dearly missed by his loved ones. We know he is in the loving arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ where he will rest in love for all eternity.
