With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Margarita “Margie” Lay — a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and quiet strength were a blessing to all who knew her.
Margie lived her life as a thoughtful, giving, and generous person, she always placed the needs of others before her own. She was the heart of her family — a woman who created comfort through her cooking, laughter, and handmade treasures. Many of us have been wrapped in one of the blankets she so lovingly crocheted, each one a piece of her that will be cherished forever.
Her passion for life was evident in the things she loved most: cooking, trips to the casinos, playing mahjong with family and friends, challenging herself with solitaire and puzzles on her iPad, watching action movies (she loved her some Jason Statham and of course Elvis), and gardening (she also loved her fruit trees and plumerias), getting pampered at her favorite nail salon and showering herself with her beautiful jewelry.
She was happiest in the company of those she loved — sharing stories, meals, and memories that will live on in our hearts.
Margie is survived by her loving children, Barbara and Roland Alan, Barbara’s husband Cecil and her treasured granddaughters, Savannah and Sydnee. Her spirit lives on in them and in the many lives she touched with her compassion and care.
We will miss her dearly, but we take comfort in knowing her love surrounds us still — in every memory, every laugh, and every blanket crocheted with her beautifully manicured hands and heart.
Forever in our hearts, forever our beloved Margie.
