My memory of Pete,  As co-owner and founder of Compare Carpets in Norco for 25 years Pete was part of our business for almost 18 years. Pete's friend Manny introduced us to him as his retired friend that wanted a part time job. Pete was the greatest employee we ever had. He was always on time ,never called in sick and was so conscientious. We actually had to tell him to slow down, take a break and have some lunch. He was the perfect fit for Don & I.
Through out the years he told us that as a young man he did some pretty wild things but the Pete we knew and loved was so gentle it was hard to believe.
I asked him how his white Tee shirts were so perfectly white and he said he washed then himself and would not let Nina do them because he was particular about them.
Remembering Pete brings a smile to my face and a tear in my eye. I am sorry that I lost contact with him because I always wanted to tell him what he meant as an employee of Compare Carpets but also what he meant to me. He was a friend and I loved him.
