Today reality sets in.

Today there is no more rushing around, no more making calls to family & friends about Bob's passing & services.
Today I am a Widow.
Today my dream of walking on the beach at 80 holding hands with Bob is just a dream.
Today I reluctantly start a new chapter in my life.
Today my heart hurts more than I thought possible.
Today I am grateful for each & every one of you for being in my life.
Today Michelle Johnson, Tim Clayton, Shawnn Johnson, Kristen Clayton, Jackie Trujillo, Kassidy Trujillo, Joe Trujillo, Mia, Bryce & I will carry on with Bob in our hearts.
Rest in peace my love until we meet again

My uncle Bob is being laid to rest today. He was, "The most interesting man in the world", before the Dos Equis commercials (and without the sophistication). He epitomized the term, "Jack of all trades", to a degree that I will never know again in my lifetime. He and my Dad were best friends in high school and eventually married sisters. I have many memories of camping trips, snake hunts and comedic gems (delivered in his dry/sarcastic humor). I was thinking about his not so flattering nicknames, “Punky, Board Hands, Canvas Back”, but my whole life he was my, “Uncle Bob”, and that trumps the others.  He was an awesome uncle, but I know even better husband and father.  I have no doubt that there is a place for him in Heaven and I hope he saves me a seat.  Love and prayers go out to my aunt Rebecca Clayton, Michelle Johnson and Tim.

You are the first person I think about when I wake up and the last person when I go to bed.  I know you are well and in heaven, it's me who is not doing so well.  I never knew what pain really was until you left, but I will keep moving forward one second, one minute, one hour & one day at a time until it is time for us to be together again.

The quail hunting, the old Land Cruiser with the V-8, the Jeep desert trips, his collection of snakes, his welding... his love of driving, the long drive to work for Lucky...  the sitting by the campfire 'til the wee hours of the morning in the desert...  his dedication to Becca and the kids...  a gentle giant.  I will always treasure those memorable times with Bob.  But most importantly, he was a true friend.  These images from memory will last my lifetime.
He was a diamond in the rough.  One in a million.  
I hope to go Jeeping with him in the next life.

Dear Rebecca and family,
I remember Bob as a young girl as he was friends with my brother Don in high school. 
I had the surprise and pleasure of being hired as a driver and being able to share his home away from home life with him for a short time. What are the chances of that? We laughed a lot about it and shared some memories. I can still see him in a picture I have in his little creamy white pickup

Becca, You, the kids and grandkids are in our thoughts and prayers.  Anything you need just ask or if you need to talk we're here for you.  Camping trips to Big Bear,fishing trips and Super Bowl parties won't be the same without him.  I'll miss our breakfasts.  We'll always remember the good times we've shared.  A crusty exterior, but a big ole teddy bear at heart.  We will miss our dear friend.  May it help knowing he's in a better place and you have a guardian angel watching over all of you.
