I worked for Bob as his assistant from 2001-2006 in Hawaii with FAA.  One of the best I ever worked with. He had the most interesting aviation stories to tell. And they were all true. You are greatly missed. Your last mission was to fly west. Thanks for the memories. 

I first met Bob in about 1962 or 63 when he was piloting for Bird and Sons out of Laos.  from than on until his passing we have stayed in contact.  Bob was a good pilot and friend to many.  I enjoyed visiting with him in Hawaii and would make it a requirement to visit when passing through.

Like most Hawaiian Pilots, Bob took special care of me. He once obtained written exam grades in 3 days to help me obtain a license. He then administered my check ride and again went out of his way to overcome challenges in his normal professional but friendly way. Thank you buddy as you are missed by all! 

Always a gentleman and friend. So willing to share his experiences. Some of my best dinner conversations were with him in Pago Pago. My thoughts, prayers and aloha to the family.

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I enjoyed working with him while I was at Hawaiian Airlines. An excellent and well respected FAA Inspector. More importantly, he was a really nice guy. 

In the 70’s I flew air tours with Bob, without a doubt a respected pilot and friend. He will be missed.

Dear Kevin and Bianca - We were so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. When mom and I visited Gene and Bob at Gene's home a few years ago, it was rather miraculous. I had a very strong intuition that we needed to see Gene, and when we arrived he and Bob were together and in fine form, engaging in teasing banter that sounded just like it might have fifty years ago. Mom, Dad, Uncle Marlin ODell and Aunt Luella visited Bob in Hawaii many years ago. They gushed at how beautiful his immaculate condominium was, and feasted on a wonderful gourmet meal that he prepared for them. Mom is currently in Westmont Village, and suffers from some Dementia, although there are times when she remains sharp. Our love goes out to you and your family at this time. With love, David ODell
