Bob von Pertz, long-time resident of Riverside, passed away at the age of 81 on January 27, 2021, surrounded by his two sons.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He grew up in Compton, San Diego, and Lynwood, Ca. He played the trumpet in the marching band for Lynwood High School as well as ran cross country track. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and spent 4 years serving our country. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Kay, after his time in the Navy. Bob worked as a Riverside County Marshall for 5 years but spent the majority of his working career as a plumber and was a member of a local union for more than 50 years. He was also very involved with youth sports while his children were young, was a Free Mason, and held many leadership roles with the Evergreen Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed spending his vacations with his family in Lake Havasu, Az and San Diego, Ca.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Kay, and daughter, Kimberly. Left to cherish the memories and share stories of Bob are sons Robbie (Julie) and John (Michelle); six grandchildren: Zachary (Zuquiely), Robert (Shelby), William, Colton, Mitchell (Paola), and Ashlee; and two great grandchildren: Grecia and Ayla, with another one on the way.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary. Bob will be laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery.
