I worked for a time as a pharmacy assistant at the Kaiser Pharmacy in Corona.  There, I met Rochelle, who made an unforgettable impression on me.  I am a book lover and she even invited me to come see her books on Nureyev.  She shared more "realness" in the short times we spoke than many people ever do.  What a lovely woman!  I will never forget her.

Shelley was an amazing warrior woman who touched the hearts of so many. She genuinely was a pillar of the community. The most important thing I learned from her was horse sense and how I could apply that to life. I wish I didnt live so far so I could be there. Happy trails with Bud Light. 

Shelly and I shared a very special friendship and love for one another. It started when we moved next door in green-river and the first knock at the door was John and Rebekah. Our friendships grew from there and it was wonderful times. I remember looking for my son Connor when he was around 4 and he would be either in the garage with Shelly and Rex (there puppy) or in the house reading a book together. Myself and Connor had a very special relationship with Shelly that I so cherished. 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer I called Shelly and she helped me immensely work through my health issues but every time I would ask how she was she would brush me off and say, I am fine but back to you, have you tried this ? 
Shelly I know we did not see each other in the past years but you will always hold a special spot in my heart. Say hello to my mother and father and I love you my special friend. xoxo

Shelly was very popular and well liked in our small city. I’ve had dozens and dozens of people come up to me in the last couple of years and inquire about her, the last couple of days especially. I love  her very much as did all these other Ecorse  friends. She was just a very cool sister. Over the past couple of years, I got to spend some time with her at church when she came to town. She would come with five or six of her friends, and it was very special. I’m crying as I write this, but she has suffered enough. Love you, Shell. I hope that all of our friends learn from her how to prepare yourself to meet our Almighty God and our Savior Jesus while you can. 

As most of you know Shelly was one of my many babysitters and forever family(friends).    I had the honor of helping Shelly in the earlier stages of her treatments.   We spent many nights in her room doing spa massages.  I always went last so I could see her and whoever our 3rd person was enjoy and seeing the relaxation was amazing.    Nap time with the "Sherriff" and face time with the grandkids before our naps.    Then there was "Jingles" who came to town.....in uniform to enjoy a beautiful Christmas Cali style.  Shelly, we laughed, we cried, and we had a true bond in friendship.    For this and so much more an empty space is in my heart.   I will miss you Raechel!   I will love you forever....diane

My memories of Shelly are from two stages of her life-childhood and later. Uncle Dick, Shelly’s dad, was my mum’s younger brother. He, Aunt Janice and their 7 children lived across the street from us. Living so close to each other we tended to share many experiences: birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, funerals, weddings, etc. Shelly, being the same age as my brother Danny as well as a few years younger than me was, as you can imagine, low on my radar at that age. Her older sisters and I spent more of our time together as the years went on. The one early memory of Shelly that stands out for me was when she was probably around 13 or 14 years old. She spent a whole summer working on her two finger whistle which was a beaut by the end of that season! I really did envy her that, too. 
Fast forward: Several of us married and moved away, as did Shelly and Jocko, to California, no less. As happens, children started arriving and “life” intruded. 
Back to the present: Shelly’s illness brought her home to Michigan several times in the past 10-12 years and, thankfully, I was able to visit with her during many of those trips. How brave of her to even attempt those many journeys and pilgrimages (!) with air travel being as unpleasant as it is these days. I will always be grateful that we were able to reconnect in these last few years of her life. She’ll always be my little “tomboy” cousin-strong, smart and sassy to the end! Love you Shelly...Toots 

Shelly will always be my Joan of Arc. Very adventurous, always coming up with ideas to go places. We walked up mountains, walked in the rain, Los Angeles District, All through Yosemite, Las Vegas, TJ Max (her favorite) and many other places. She was there when I needed a hand or shoulder to cry on. Helped me decide what was best for me and my family.  She loved my dogs and my dogs loved her. This world will never be the same without her. Even though we were not born in the same family we will always be sisters. Bless your golden heart Shelly I am going truly miss you. But I was sure happy that God was there for and no more pain. Rest In Peace my beautiful Sister. 

We shared so much...You taught me so much about Life..I will continue to ",Plug in every morning for Rosary". You will be my Cherry Blossom forever..Til we meet again Sister.

Muleshoe Lake, Rose City around 1978 or so.  Shelly must have traveled from downstate Michigan to spend a weekend on the family “farm” on a warm summer weekend.  Shelly took me to the lake to see Aunt Ethel one afternoon that weekend.  We took the rowboat out to the dock in the middle of the lake where we lounged about, soaking up the sun and enjoyed doing absolutely nothing.  After a while, Shelly decided it was high time I learned to swim so she grabbed me by my arm and swung me like she was going for gold in the hammer toss.  She wasn’t expecting me to latch onto her as quickly, or as tightly, as I did.  This resulted in us both being active participants in this swim lesson.  I remember her laughter when we both surfaced the water.  It worked, I learned to swim that day and I’ll never forget her laughter.  We both laughed and swam around the water on a perfect late summer day...fully clothed.  I love you big sister.
