Born in Bagheria, Italy. She came to the United States in 1919 and turned four years old on the ship during the journey. She settled with her family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she grew up, attended school, worked, married her husband Isidore “Izzy” Frittito, and adopted her daughter, Karen Marie. She always considered herself a true American and became a naturalized citizen.
In the mid 1950’s, the Frittito family moved to the Riverside, California area and established their life here. Primarily, a homemaker, in later years, she was a lifelong member of the AARP. She was an avid world traveler and her most loved country was Switzerland. She worked for the Broadway department store and retired from there after ten years of service.
In her retirement years she was still engaged in life and involved with AARP, her church and family activities. As with all of us, time passed and the infirmities of age took their toll. She lived a long, full, and adventurous life.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Marie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and family throughout the United States.
Final thanks to New Horizons Residential Care Facility for the Elderly for making her final days peaceful and comfortable.
A graveside service for Sarah will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Olivewood Memorial Park, 3300 Central Ave, Riverside, CA 92506.
