Sophie E. Ramirez

Sophie Ramirez, 73 of Riverside, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 22, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. A lifelong resident of Riverside, she was born in Mexicali on March 22, 1942 one of 4 children born and raised by Trinidad Estrada Espinoza. Sophie graduated in 1960 from Riverside Poly and worked in various capacities at Bourns Instruments for 35 years, where she took early leave due to her disability. She loved vacationing, spending time with friends, dancing and singing. Sophie had a great sense of humor and was known for the beautiful smile that lit up her face! Her kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Sophie is survived by her sister Lydia Stokes of Riverside, 2 brothers Willy Espinoza of Highgrove and Danny Espinoza (Barbara), of Apple Valley; 8 nieces & nephews; 18 grand nieces & nephews, many cousins and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Trini Espinoza in 1997 and Nephew Ryan Stokes in 2014. Sophie was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Services are May 1, 2015 - Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10:30, both at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Riverside. Interment following at Olivewood Memorial Park 12:00.
