You were a man that knew the importance of family. I will always remember the love you had for your family and grandchildren. I love the way that you made my children feel like your own grandchildren.

Terry was one of my first Training Officers when I hired on RPD in January 1972. While working the midnight shift one night we spotted a male dragging a female out of a restroom by her hair at the Shell gas station on Main at the 60 freeway. Of course we could not let that happen, so involved we became.  This became my very first on duty physical confrontation as a Police Officer. With Terry there, there was never any doubt in my mind that we were going to be victorious.  The battle was over very quickly and the bad guy was booked into the Gray Bar Hotel for the rest of the night.  Rest in peace my friend.

You and I will meet again.  We will joke and laugh with our friends reminding each other of all the experiences that we shared together as we stood watch over our community. Yes, you and I will certainly meet again and I take comfort from that thought.

Terry, I trained with you when I was a rookie. We worked the Eastside and knew I chose the right profession when you taught me what policing is all about.  I do remember tho, you loved you hot & spicy burritos and how the top of your forehead would always sweat!! You were always willing to help others. You had this kindness with others and I always had an admiration for you. You were a true cop's cop. Made the good Lord embrace you. Jomama Cahill

Terry was an exemplary police officer and leader.  It was an honor and a privilege to have served with him.  He made a lasting difference for the department and for those who were fortunate enough to have worked with and for him.  God bless.  R.I.P.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Terry when he was assigned to Crimes Against Persons (Homicide), as a detective and later for him as he rose in rank.
He was always calm in any storm and was looked up to for sound advise. 
Terry was definitely the type of person that if you were around him for any length of time, you would recognize his outstanding character and integrity and try to emulate those traits in yourself. I feel that I was a better investigator and am a better person for having known him.
Rest in God's grace, Terry. You made this world a better place and now Heaven is even more glorious!

Rest in Peace Terry, I will always remember what a true gentleman you were. You had everyone's respect and were a pleasure to know. Everyone knew you had their back if needed.

When I was doing security for Sunday night when it was only me and Terry only Terry knew what was best for me and safety as I drove around the parking lot on Sunday nights, the only time he did not want me to drive was on a hard rainy day because he did not want me to get sick which is very understandable, but the Sunday nights when it was clear but extreamly cold he always treated for a free hot chocolate, things have changed now but I will miss him very much see him every Tuesday evening for mens bible study and Sunday morning service. He is now in the presence of the Lord a place call heaven is called his real home now Terry is waiting for all brothers to be in heaven!  I will be praying for the family.
