Vivian Arlone Nelson

At age three Vivian relocated to California with her family of nine siblings and called Marysville, California home until she married the love of her life, Lester M. Nelson on June 1, 1946. In Lester’s thirty year career in the U.S. Air Force they lived together at Castle Field, California, Johnston Island in the Pacific, Edwards AFB, California, Furstenfeldbruck, Germany, March AFB, California, and Travis AFB, California.

After military retirement they made their home in Riverside. Vivian was employed by Harris Company, and retired as a supervisor of the Harris Company distribution center in San Bernardino at age 72.

Vivian was passionate about baseball. Family and friends were her delight. Vivian is survived by her children Edward Nelson, SR and Karen Thompson, both of Riverside, 8 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, and many friends who adored her. Her spunk and zest for life will be dearly missed.

Services will be held at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92505 on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Viewing : 9:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Interment: Immediately following service.
