Walter James Allen

Walter Allen age 67 entered into the gates of Heaven on June 18, 2024. Walter, better known James to his wife, Karla and Bud to his siblings and other family members. Bud was born on September 20, 1956. Bud, as his family lovingly called him was the seventh child of eight children born to William and Peggy Allen. Walter was born in Newport, Tennessee. He later moved to New Haven, Detroit where he lived until the age of twelve. It was then when Bud’s parents decided to move to Compton, California, where he attended Roosevelt junior high. Walter then attended Dominguez high school until he graduated in 1974. After graduating high school Walter worked various jobs.

At the age of 20 he met his wife Karla and three years later they were married. Walter then began working as a tool cutter grinder in a machine shop. For 20 years Walter worked in three different companies as a machinist. The last 10 years before his retirement, he worked in a hydraulic control company that would repair pumps in many different types of motors. During these 30 years of life, Walter became a father to two children a daughter named Taniesha and a son named Kevin. After many years of marriage, Walter and Karla became grandparents to two grandsons, Kevan and Karson who called him Papa.

Walter, known as Bud to his siblings was a big presence at family gatherings. He was always telling jokes and funny stories from his childhood and some from his adulthood. For 67 years we have enjoyed seeing Bud’s fun loving zest for life, which gave us pleasure to be around him. Until we see him again to hear more of his stories; we will remember them, and hold Bud in our hearts and never forget the husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend we lost.
