William Elzworth Browning, age 77, passed away April 3, 2018. "Buck" as he was known by his Missouri family, "Bill" as he was known by his friends here in Utah, was born May 20, 1940 in Noel, Missouri to Lloyd and Georgia Browning. Bill was the oldest of 7 kids. When Bill was 14 years old, his father passed away and he went right to work hauling chickens to help support his family.
After graduating from high school in 1958 he joined the army and served for 2 years. The last year was spend in the Canine Core. Upon his arrival back home he met the love of his life Hazel Flager in the fall of 1960 at a school carnival. The two were married on July 15, 1961 in Pineville, Missouri.
Their first child, Danny, was born on July 5, 1962 and due to medical problems they ventured to Utah where Primary Children's Hospital could help them. Their second child, Donna was born less that 12 months later on June 23, 1963. Their third child was not born for another 14 years, and that's when Tammie was born on April 25, 1977.
Bill worked in a veterinarian clinic then started employment with the state and working with the Air National Guard Reserve for 20 years, retiring from that in 2000. Bill shared a love of softball, hunting, and fishing with his family. He instilled the values of working hard for what you have, loving your family and always keeping them close to your heart. Bill was able to walk both of his daughters down the aisle when they were married, Donna to Mylan Hainsworth and Tammie to Victor Lucien Maier, as well as his granddaughter Stephanie to Dennis Pedersen.
Without a doubt, his greatest pride was his grandchildren which called him "Papa". He loved to talk about his grandkids to anyone that would listen.
He is survived by his wife: Hazel, children: Danny, Donna (Mylan) Hainsworth, and Tammie (Victor Lucien) Maier, and grandchildren: Stephanie (Dennis) Pedersen, William Hainsworth, Emily Hainsworth, Kyler Maier, and Jaina Maier, siblings: James Browning, Jerry Browning, and Alta Keller.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Lloyd and Georgia Browning, siblings: Loyd Browning, Edward Browning, and Kay Duncan.
Bill has touched the lives of so many people and we all miss him dearly.
