Margaret L. Sanders

Margaret L. Sanders, 98, of Rock Island, died, Tuesday March 13, 2012 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Hodgson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island. Online condolences may be made at www.hodgsonfuneralhome.com. Margaret was born on November 1, 1913 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of John and Zelma (Macomber) Dixon. She was united in marriage to Merle Sanders on March 31, 1935 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1997. Margaret was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping and was a member of Rock Island Family Campers. She also enjoyed bird watching and collecting cats. Those left to honor her memory are daughter, Faye Hager, Oklahoma, two sons, Donald (Betty) Sanders, Nashville, TN, and Dean (Carolyn) Sanders, six grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Wallace, and two sisters, Holly and Vivian.
