

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary Jewell was born on June 13, 1941 in Okolona, Mississippi, the daughter of Purvie T. and W. Gertrue (Morris) Williams. She married Donald L. Gulick on March 28, 1959 in Rock Island.
Jewell worked as a machine operator at Quad City Die Casting for over 30 years. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, and loved attending services there. Much of her free time was spent dancing, especially square dancing, and she also enjoyed bingo and Yahtzee. She loved spending time with her family, and was a lot of fun to be around.
Survivors (and spouses) include her daughter, Cheryl Gulick, Rock Island; son, Robert (Dale) Gulick, Panama City Beach, FL; sisters, Susan McCannon, East Moline, and Louise (Stephen) Watters, Milan; brothers, Thomas (Linda) Williams, Milan, and Wayne (Marcia) Williams, Brundidge, AL; an aunt, Nettie Ingvall, Moline; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Gulick in death were her parents, husband Donald; a son, Billy R. Gulick; a daughter in infancy, Wanda Gail; and a sister, Lois Whitcomb.
