Barbara Jane Olsen Winne, 58, of Merritt Island passed away with her children at her side on Saturday, April 17, 2021. She was born on September 13, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Loretta Constance London Olsen and Fred Med Olsen. She is also predeceased by siblings Fred Olsen, Terry Olsen, and John Olsen.
Barbara is survived by her former husband, Peter Winne, and their three children, Kristen Winne Rhodes and husband David, Kindra Winne Coyle and husband Kristopher, and Zackary Winne and fiancée Hannah Breedlove. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren Violet Coyle, Hunter Coyle, Hazel Rhodes and Sage Rhodes. She is also survived by siblings Jim Olsen, Diane Olsen Cima, Tom Olsen, Don Olsen, Christine Olsen Collins, and Bob Olsen, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as by devoted friend Brian Donahue.
Barbara was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Central High School in 1980. After relocating to Brevard County in 1988, she was a long-time resident of Merritt Island and worked in the banking industry where she was well known for her warm smile and kind nature. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, visiting the beach, and enjoying the company of her close friends. Barbara was lovingly cared for at Zon Beachside Assisted Living Facility, and her children will be forever grateful to those entrusted with her care there.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, May 3rd, 2021 at Florida Memorial Gardens in Viera. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm, also at Florida Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Nancy Cartelli officiating.
