Charles Alvin Cheverie

He will be lovingly remembered and eternally missed by his daughters Denise Petrae (Gary Sallee) of Rockledge, FL and Lisa Brackney (Brad) of Lake Worth, FL. Beloved Papa to five (5) adoring grandchildren; Justin, Wayne, Kara, Dylan and Shannon and four (4) great- grandchildren; Gabriella, Jayden, Mariah and Mason. Pre-deceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Angela and their son Wayne.

Charles was born 3 October 1930 in East Boston, Massachusetts, the son of a Coast Guardsman. He was raised in Eastport, Maine. Growing up in a Maine fishing port made Charles a natural for the seafaring life. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in October 1948. In April 1955, became an Investigator in CG Intelligence. During this tour, in addition to investigative duties, he trained numerous State Law Enforcement Officials throughout the twenty-two state district in Federal Boating Laws and Boarding Procedures. As a result of the Cuban crisis, he was assigned to Miami in January 1967. In July 1969, now a Master-Chief Boatswainmate, he became Officer-in-Charge of the CGC POINT CHARLES at Cape Canaveral and served there until retiring on 1 February 1974 with 26 years service.

A private family service will be held on November 18, 2023 at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Florida.
