

Claudia May Praides, a long-time resident of Melbourne, FL since 1985, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 81 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 29, 1934 in Bellerose, NY to the late Clarence and Agnes Elliott and raised in Amityville, NY.
Claudia was an avid golfer and an active member of both Southward Ho (NY) and Suntree Country Clubs (FL). Claudia also loved music and played both the organ and accordion.
She is survived by her loving Husband of almost 60 years, John, and their three children and spouses: Doreen and husband Michael Vecchione, Diane Praides, and son, John and wife Amy Praides, Jr., Grandmother to Michael, Christopher and Dayna Vecchione. A loving sister to Marilyn (Ted - deceased) Miller and Millicent (Nick) Russo (deceased) and Aunt to Ginny (Kenny) Costello, Terri (Wes) Pryer, Kevin (Lee Anne) Miller, Teddy (Sharon) Miller and David (Jacquie) Miller.
As a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a shining light and inspiration to all of us. Her beautiful smile and laugh always brought happiness to those who knew her. She possessed a special gift that made each of us feel like our happiness was her main focus and sole concern. She was always loving and generous without limits, especially to our family needs, which included many cherished and thoughtful surprises. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends but will always remain in our hearts until we meet again.
Claudia’s life will be celebrated at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:00 am in an intimate service including family and friends.
