Daniel Roberts, M.D.

Dr. Daniel Roberts, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Philip and Ida Roberts.

Dr. Roberts was an Eagle Scout and a proud member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity during his time at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He earned his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine (Wake Forest University).

In 1964, he and his wife, Carol, relocated from Baltimore, Maryland to Rockledge, Florida, where he practiced dermatology for 37 years. He was the founder of the Brevard Skin & Cancer Center, served on the Medical and Surgical Staff at Wuesthoff Hospital, and was a founding member of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, which later honored him as “Surgeon of the Year” for his outstanding contributions to the field. He was also recognized as “Practitioner of the Year” by the Florida Society of Dermatology. The American Cancer Society of Brevard County honored him for over two decades of service, and the Kiwanis Club of Rockledge named him “Man of the Year.”

He had a lifelong passion for music, joining the Miami Federation of Musicians at just 14 years old. He enjoyed sailing, photography, painting, and collecting—his interests ranged widely and reflected his curious, creative spirit. For over 20 years, he painted regularly and found great fulfillment in expressing himself through art and playing the harmonica.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Carol; his three daughters, Kim Roberts (Bob Holtzapple), Kathie Scheinman (Rob Scheinman), and Courtney Roberts; and his cherished grandsons, Grey Daniel Scheinman and Reid Nathan Scheinman.

He will be remembered with deep love, admiration, and gratitude for a life devoted to family, service, creativity, and healing.

A Funeral Service will take place at Temple Israel of Brevard, 7300 Lake Andrew Blvd, Melbourne, Florida on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation in honor of Dr. Roberts’s memory.
