Hi Darryl, It is our loss that we didn't meet you before and get to know you better.  Kathy has written a very fitting tribute to you and it has helped us to know you better.  Kathy strives each day to make her happiness complete but we know that there will be an eternal space in that happiness that will never be filled.  You were so fortunate to have a love that endures  many hardships and "bumps" in the road along the way.  If we were to know you both better, we know that we'd see a lot of happiness.  Kathy is doing well in our eyes, and we think it's because you would want it that way. She hesitates frequently along the way with memories of you and your times together.  We feel, from what we've heard about you, that you would tell her, "Get on with your life.  I know you loved and still love me.  What more could I ask?  I'm happy where I am and I want you to find happiness where you can. All I can give to you now is our memories and I'm happy in the fact that you have them and work so hard to make sure our grandchildren know me."  We really feel you would say this in your heart and we're sure that Kathy knows this too.  Kathy's friends will stay by her side as much as possible, trying to be a buffer between her happiness and her thoughts for you.  She'll be fine.

The journey of this first year without you is now complete. During that journey there were many firsts to endure without your gentle smiling face looking back at me.  Holidays, birthdays, grand children's accomplishments, happy and sad days were all met with a mix of emotion and inner strength. 

I made a promise to you that your grandchildren would know you through me and I live that promise every day.  Pictures and stories about you, the kind of man you were and most importantly how you loved them with all of your heart are shared with them often. I vow to you today that will continue until the time comes that I will be by your side once again. 

Through many tears, this past year has provided me with opportunity to reflect on my life with you. The wonderful memories I hold in my heart are giving me strength and inner peace to try to step forward with my life as I know would be your wish. 

Darryl, you have touched many lives during your short time here with us. Those you loved are better people today because of your steady hand, wise insight and guidance. We are all blessed to have walked our lives beside you and been loved by you even for a short time.

I write today to honor you, the man you were and the presence you still hold in our lives. Your guiding light is ever present, showing us the way to be the best we can be. Your complete  love for us gives us strength to go on, to face day to day challenges, to be better parents, caring friends and to have the courage to reach for happiness as we move forward with our lives. 

There are many days we know you are here beside us, we do not take for granted or question any of those mystical feelings or signs of your spiritual presence near us.  We see you in the beauty of the stars and in the vibrant sunbeams on a summer's day.  

Your energy and love for us weave peace into our hearts and help us with the tomorrow's.  You loved us so well and we are surviving because of it.  My heart was, is and will forever more be full of love for you.

Darryl, as one-year draws nigh, strong memories and emotions flood in of your courage and spirit and the bond between you and Chris in that regard. I think of that often and visit the memorial along the lake to draw strength from those memories to continue to move forward in the best possible way in the life I have now. John

Darryl, as I wrote at Chris's 'Guestbook' today, I could not help but also think of you. You and Chris had so much in common as you fought the good fight during your last years and that will always be with me. Kathy and I honored that bond with a plaque attached to one of the new benches on the promenade along the lake you two loved so much. I visit that plaque on a daily basis to be reminded of that bond and to find healing from the courage you two displayed during that time, a courage now needed by we who remain behind and cared so much.

Happy Anniversary my love. Our wedding day was the happiest day of my life and I will be forever grateful that you chose me to share you life with. I am so grateful for 43 wonderful years of marriage. The tears will be many today, but the love you shared so easily still spins around me like a magical web, holding me up as I face the days without you by my side. You were the best husband, the one I always dreamed of having as a little girl and you will forever hold my heart in your hands. You made all my dreams come true. I miss you. I love you.  Kathy

Darryl, You drifted into my life one summer's day when we were so young and carefree. Together we walked through life, hands held fast and hearts forever entwined. Darryl was a great guy and one of the first people that I met when I started at DRS.  He was always willing to help me no matter what I threw at him!  My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.  He will always be in our memories. May God Bless you!

I had the privilege to briefly get to know Darryl. He loved his family and was blessed with the opportunity to spend more time with them than the medical community expected.  A blessing from a loving Father in Heaven.   My most sincere condolences to the Vannucci's and their extended family.

Darryl and I worked for many years at DRS.  He was a great co-worker and a great friend.  He was well respected and he will be missed by all.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

For most of our lives, cousin Darryl and I were separated by great distances. But, being family, there were those occasions when I was able to spend time both with him, his brother Bruce and sister Valerie as a young boy and as an adult. These were always the best of times. But having moved recently to Florida, my wife Gloria and I had a chance to reunite with him and his wonderful wife Kathy. Our mutual visits, drives together and time spent simply talking or cruising around in the golf cart were tremendously enjoyable. This couldn't have been a more happy reunion. We will miss him greatly.

Bill and I both worked with Darryl over the years and never knew a nicer man.  He was very respected and will be missed by all.  We cherish our memories of him and will hold him and you in our prayers.

Darryl and Kathy were both schoolmates of mine. Darryl went through Kindergarten to 12th grade with me. My one memory is that Darryl always had a book in his hand. Dad, words alone could never describe you. The constant love & support you gave to each of us was such a gift. Its the kind of love that you just never get enough of. To say I miss you understates my feelings immensely. To say a simple "I love you" doesn't begin to express what's in my heart for you. All my life, I will try to be more like you, keeping family first as you have taught me. I love you so so much, and miss you so much more.

Darryl was one of my bosses when I first started at DRS, he always made time for each of us, he was a true gentleman and always showed concern and compassion if a you or a family member was sick or hurt. He was a true gift to us all.
