Donald Grandine Robinson Sr. passed away peacefully in Palm Bay, Florida, on November 4, 2022 at age 86. He was preceded in death by his loyal wife Ruthie. They were married for 47 years. Don was father to daughter Lisa Nazaryk (David) and son Donald G. Robinson Jr. (Michelle). He leaves behind five grandchildren: Donald G. Robinson III (18), Connor Robinson (17), Peyton Nazaryk (12), Cooper Robinson (11), and Joseph Robinson (10).
Harmony Senior Advisors was instrumental in finding compassionate caregivers to help him the last 5 years of his life.
Don was born in New York and grew up in New York City. When he was 15 years old, he won the Silver Skates in speed skating at Madison Square Garden in NY. Several coaches wanted to coach him for the Olympics, but his family did not have the financial resources to realize this dream.
Don served in the United States Air Force and upon completing his service, he returned to New Jersey to work in his family's dry cleaning service. In 1962, he met and married the beautiful, loving and Godly, love of his life, Ruth. He then learned the "hoagie" business and bought a deli/shop in Edison, NJ. In total, Don owned and operated 5 shops. He had three shops in NJ, and two shops in FL; Don's Hoagie World in Vero Beach, and Don's Famous Hoagies in Melbourne. His work ethic and passion for customer service drove him. He worked until the age of 81 years old.
Don's greatest desire was for his children and grandchildren to know Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives.
A private, family burial was held on November 12, 2022 at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
