Doug was family to many and a friend to many more. He had a great sense of humor, such a happy smile and was the “advisor” known for his patience, listening, and advice skills. Doug had a gift for helping others make decisions, not by directing them “what they should do”, but instead by listening and asking questions so that he and others could obtain clarity.
He was blessed to have a 38-year career with Compass Group. He started in the dish room at Florida Technological University and ended as Regional Vice President in Nashville, TN.
Over the years Doug enjoyed a variety of activities, including photography, boating, camping, motorcycling, sound, lighting, mechanical and solving problems. These were enjoyed most when sharing with family and friends. He was referred to as the “gadget man”.
Doug is survived by his wife Sara, son Lee, daughter-in-law Judy, grandson Parker, and daughter Michelle, son-in-law James, granddaughter, Faith and grandson, Wesley. Also survived by siblings Carol, John, Lola, Sister-in-law Lois, Brothers-in-law Louie & Bart as well many nieces and nephews.
The service will be at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL. February 5, 2025, 11:00 AM.
