Dr. Harrell was a once in a lifetime professor. He has had a profound impact on the way I view the world and for that I am forever grateful.

Dr.  Edward Harrell was my history professor back in 1966 at The Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida.  
Dr. Harrell had the gift that few professors have to present the material in a dynamic way that maintains student interest.  In my senior year at FIT I also had Herr Harrell for German class .  He was an outstanding professor and human being.  I will never forget him.  RIP Dr. Harrell and thank you.

Doctor Harrell was my history professor at Rolling College in the late 1970's through the early 1980's. He was the best history teacher I ever had; and he and I became personal friends. He visited my home and I his. Even after I graduated from college, I would drop in from time to time to sit in his classes. I am proud that he often referred to me as "The best student I ever had". Although I haven't seen him in person since the mid 1990's, I called him from time to time, as recently as last summer. Please know he is remembered, and fondly. He added to my knowledge and challenged me mentally. I still miss our debates over the facts and lessons of history. I miss him. Thanks;

He was one of the toughest professors I had but by far he was my favorite.  He had a wicked sense of humor.  Rest In Peace  Dr. Harrell.

one of my favorite teachers ever!  we became so close he even attended my wedding! but boy was he tough, especially with that Russian history.
