He was born in Calabria, Italy in the small town of Isca sull’ Ionio (Catanzaro) to Ercole Vivaldo and Annina Paola Varano on February 16th, 1933. He and his wife, Maria G. Vivaldo, were married on April 23rd, 1952. They moved to the United States and continued their legacy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Pocono Mountains. There, they built a loving home and celebrated their culture with their highly regarded restaurant, Nando’s. They retired to Melbourne, Florida.
Ferdinando was a man of many talents. He was a carpenter, gardener, winemaker, and chef. But, most of all, he cultivated a family full of love and goodness. He was extremely proud of his three daughters, Anita Vivaldo-Posser, Rita Vivaldo Hays, and Marie Gallelli. He is also survived by his wife Maria Vivaldo, his sister, Ersilia Mirarchi as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL with a Funeral Services to follow at 2:30 pm. A Celebration of Nando's life will be held immediately after.
