Frederick C. Peterson, Sr., age 80, of Melbourne, FL, passed away at William Child Hospice House on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. He was born in Capac, MI and moved to Brevard County in 1961. Mr. Peterson retired as a supervisor with Chrysler Corp. Space Division and also owned the Ly-Brari Tavern in Melbourne. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Mr. Peterson was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a former Boy Scout leader for Troop 300 and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Katherine of Melbourne; sons, Frederick C. Peterson. Jr. (Karen Menges) of Melbourne, Jeffrey A. Peterson of Gainesville, FL, Bradley E. Peterson of Palm Bay, Craig M. Peterson (Jenny) of Melbourne; daughter, Tena M. Hochard (Ed) of Palm Bay; brother, Dennis Peterson; sisters, Phyllis Richards and Sharon Lester; seven grand-children; and two great-grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by all. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 1st, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens.
