Gloria Jean Spencer

Gloria Jean Spencer, age 62, of Rockledge, FL. She faced several health-related battles for quite some time and proved to be one of the strongest people her doctors and nurses have seen. After a very long battle and multiple organ failures, Gloria peacefully passed away at Rockledge Regional Medical Center on September 20th, 2019 while surrounded by her son Austin, daughter-in-law Brianna, sister Patricia, former husband and life-long friend Ronald and doctors she considered friends.

She came to Brevard County in 1993 working as a loan officer at Community Credit Union.

She was a devoted, strong and loving Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, and friend. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on May 31st, 1957. As the oldest of 7, there was never a dull moment in the house. Gloria has always been one of those people that will tell you exactly how she feels about something whether you like it or not. Sort of brutally honest in a non-threatening way, but that’s mostly because of her size. She loved to have fun by trying out new things and going on new adventures. As a military daughter and later wife she was able to travel and see many different places around the world. She also loved simpler things such as going to see any scary or action movie that was playing in theaters, any and everything that had to do with Batman, and lately going to Jetty park to watch the cruise ships come in and out of the port.

Most people remember Gloria from her time working at the credit union. Being there was more than a career, it was a place to meet friends which became so close that the relationship was more like family. Even after not being there for years, those relationships remained the same and will never change.

She is survived by her former husband, Ronald Spencer; son and daughter in law, Austin and Brianna Spencer; sisters, Cynthia, Patricia and Laura; brothers, Earl, Jr., Ricky and Jimmy and mother, Mary Rembert.
