

She was born on March 3, 1932 near Gerster, Missouri in St. Clair County. She was the ninth child of Fred and Lula (Baumgarden) Cauthon. In her early school years, she attended Kings Prairie School in St. Clair County and she attended El Dorado Springs High School in Cedar County where she was active in drama and music. She was also active in the local Baptist church and youth groups.
In the fall of 1950 she enrolled in Southwest Baptist College at Boliver, Missouri and began teaching in the rural school of Union Hall at the age of 19. After obtaining her degree at Southwest Baptist College, she enrolled at Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1954.
Grace taught school in the Lee’s Summit, Missouri school district in the fall of 1954.
On January 21, 1955, Grace married her high school friend, soulmate and love of her life, Russell L. Bausch.
In 1956, Russell and Grace moved to Rolla, Missouri, where Russell attended the University of Missouri at Rolla. In 1957 and 1958 two sons, Russell K. Bausch and Lanny Lee Bausch joined the family.
Grace continued to work in the public school system in Rolla until 1960 when the family moved to Haysville, Kansas, where Russell began employment with the Boeing Company. The family was very active in the local Baptist church.
In 1963 the family moved to Huntsville, Alabama and in 1966 moved to Titusville, Florida where Russell continued his work with Boeing.
In 1970, Grace became employed with the Brevard County, Florida public schools until 1975, at which time Boeing transferred Russell and the family to Kent, Washington. Grace worked in the Kent County, Washington public school system. The family returned to Florida in 1981 where Grace worked in both the public libraries and school libraries until her retirement in 1989. Husband Russell retired from Boeing after 33 years in 1993.
Grace was a charter member of the Genealogical Society in North Brevard County, Florida, and the local TOPS group. She actively researched her family history, traveling to many States in the deep South and including Yorkshire, England.
During their retirement, Russell and Grace traveled extensively to Russia, China, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Ireland, Great Britain and Europe visiting a total of 44 countries. Russell and Grace renewed their wedding vows in Cana, Israel.
Grace’s thirst for research and history never ceased. During her retirement she enjoyed sewing, music, art, drama, writing, traveling and photography.
Grace is survived by her son, Russell K. Bausch (Titusville, Florida) and his wife Merrill (Adickes) Bausch, son Lanny L. Bausch (Orlando, Florida), her sister Jaunita Howe (Belton, Missouri) as well as her grandchildren, Juliana Grace Bausch, Lauren Elizabeth (Bausch) Akers, Justin Bradley Bausch, and Kristin Leigh (Bausch) Harwood, step grandchildren Rebecca Anne Rich and Benjamin Peter Rich and her great grandchildren Logan Levi Akers and Jonah Jude Akers.
Grace was proceeded in death by her husband (June 11, 2017) and her parents and her 7 brothers and sisters as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and other in laws and family members.
Final arrangements for cremation were handled by the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial in Rockledge, Florida. A brief memorial service was held in Florida pursuant to Grace’s final wishes.
