Heather Nicole Yockey passed away on August 29, 2020 at her home in Melbourne, Florida. She was born April 3, 1991 in Minot, North Dakota and graduated from Viera High School in 2009. She attended college at Eastern Florida State University and Minot State College. She worked in the hospitality business as an excellent, popular server for a prestigious restaurant in Melbourne.
Heather's first priority was to be a great mother to her two beautiful daughters, Miley and Haylee. She dedicated her life to making the best world possible for them. She was the mother with all of the snuggles and the smiles and the laughs. A day at the beach, or the zoo, or anywhere fun with her family was what Heather lived for. She made sure her children never did without anything, even when she, herself, may have had to go without.
Everyone who met Heather fell in love with her. She was a smile and a hug. She was remembering the details of your life and truly caring about them. She was a "let me help" kind of friend. She worked hard and loved immensely. Her loyalty was absolute. She was also sassy, opinionated, and fierce, but it wasn't possible to stay mad at her for more than a minute.
Heather is survived by her mother, Leslie Yockey; father and stepmother, William and Kathleen Yockey; brother, Brandon Yockey; sister, Mistina Yockey; stepbrother, David Thomas and her incredible and resilient daughters, Miley and Haylee Yockey. She was preceded in death by her much beloved stepsister, Michaela Thomas.
The family is establishing trust funds to provide for Miley's and Haylee's education and request donations to this fund in lieu of flowers. Donations can be made through PayPal at [email protected]. Please use the friends and family option and note in the message if the donation is for Miley or Haylee or should be split between both girls.
Alternatively you can send a donation by check made out to "Miley's College Fund" or "Haylee's College Fund" to 3625 Heartwood Lane, Melbourne, FL 32934 or bring to the ceremony. Checks can only be deposited into the specified account. Donations will be deposited into trust fund accounts and available for the girls education until they are 21 years old. Any remaining funds will pass directly to the girls on their 21st birthday.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 Route 1 South, Rockledge, FL.
