James D. Crabtree

After serving in the USAF for 16 years, Jim worked for Pacific Bell in Tacoma Washington. He moved to Brevard County in 1971 and worked for Radiation, Harris and DBA before retiring.

After retiring, he was actively involved with Rockledge Christian Center for the past 22 years. Children at the church always knew he would have candy in his pocket to share with them. He also volunteered his time teaching computer classes and assisting fellow residents of Lamplighter Village. He shared his love of crafting with countless others by giving out handmade ornaments at Christmas time.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Evelyn Post Crabtree; his daughters, Connie Fredrick (Greg), and Sharon Scheerhorn (Kim); son, James A. Crabtree; sister, Kay Hammitt; brother, Danny Crabtree; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam D. Crabtree and Mary Linville Crabtree and great-granddaughter, Jaime Kay Connell.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1st, at 10:00 a.m. at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
