John is a veteran of the US Navy, retired CPO.
Survivors include John's wife, Barbara Bowe Ernst; and daughters, Colleen Ernst Bohn, Terrilyn (Kevin) Donovan, Lisa Ann (Robert) Defibaugh, Jacqueline (Richard) Webb and Sandra (Daniel) Maestre; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 4 - 6 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Florida Memorial Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a pet charity of choice .
