Born on August 7th, 1939, in Kinston, North Carolina, Lovit was the son of the late Lovit Hines and Edna Mae Sutton White. He graduated in 1957 from Wheat Swamp High School in North Carolina, where he devoted his time to playing sports and participated in agricultural and mechanical studies. Right after graduation, he was selected to enter the United States Army, where he served for 6 years as a Corporal E-4 in wheel mechanics, until he was honorably discharged in 1963. He later, was a dedicated business owner of Austin White Enterprises Trucking Company, where he retired in 2015.
He was more than just a veteran mechanic and truck driver - he was a hardworking son, a devoted father, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather, as well a loyal friend. He welcomed children and grandchildren into his heart as though they were his own, giving freely of his love, guidance, and unwavering support. In doing so, they became his family, just as he became theirs. He loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
He is survived by his siblings, Ivy White and Linda Byrd; daughters, Melonia White Garris (Roddy), and Diana Joy White; his sons, Alan Glenn (Sandi), Warren Glenn (Charlene), and Lovit Todd White (Laura); his nine grandchildren - Derek, Megan, Nick, Jeanette, Andrea, Victoria, Genna, Olivia, Luci, and Lovit Austin; his three great-grandchildren - Paige, Maliyah, and Shea; and his beloved cat, Blanche.
