Michael J. Schmitt Jr.

Michael John Schmitt, Jr. passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Rockledge, FL. Michael is the son of Diana Atanacio Armstrong of Swanzey , NH and Michael John Schmitt of Rocklege, FL.

He is survived by his sister, Cassandra Danielle Schmitt, his step brother, Loew Lumbra, and his step father, John Lewis Armstrong of Swanzey, NH, his maternal grandfather, Ray Atanacio of Gainesville, FL, his maternal grandmother Theresa Coyle of Edgewater, FL, his maternal step-grandfather Harry Coyle of Edgewater, FL, his paternal grandmother Sue Schmitt of Rockledge, FL, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael was a 2007 graduate of Keene High School in Keene, NH. He was an employee of the Target in Viera, FL. He was an avid gamer, enjoyed movies, military history specializing in Civil War. He loved the water, finding peace at the beach in times of trouble. He cherished his dog Sunshine. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. Michael was known for his kindness and always putting others before himself. He was very loved and cherished by all that knew him; as one of his favorite songs states “Carry on My Wayward Son.”

There will be a visitation from 6-8pm on Friday, February 20 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 21 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial.
