My prayers and thoughts are with Mildred's family.  I just learned of her passing and wanted to share my thoughts ..
Even though I only knew Mildred for a short time we became very close....She shared her growing up years on the farm with  her siblings. I know she worked very hard and was so happy when her parents gave her the money to attend secretarial school.
She spoke all the time about her 2 sons and her grandchildren. She was sooooo happy when Lucille was born and displayed the picture with such a smile on her face.
I never met her grandchildren but I felt like I knew all of them...When the granddaughter from Jax came for a visit she talked about it for days...
She was a very special woman and I grew to love her...We talked about God and I know she was a Christian.
She loved Vicky like a daughter and always told me all the things Vicky and Freddy did for her.
I will always have a special prayer for Mildred and know that she is in heaven and walking without the walker and digging in her flowers all day.
God bless and keep you Mildred and be with all the family.

Mildred - I appreciate you being such a kind neighbor and friend to my mom.  She always spoke how lucky she was to have a neighbor like you.   I will miss seeing you pick up leaves as they fell in the Fall breeze.  Selfishly I miss you but know that you are at peace now.  You will forever live in our hearts.  Love, Donna and family

I lost my mother last year (your next door neighbor) and having you and Liz still there meant a lot to me, it kept things somewhat normal for me. But now you have gone as well and I miss you very much, I hope that you and my mom are visiting in heaven. You will always be in my memories of a great time in Turkey Creek Forest, a time when I was hanging out with my mom, you were out walking to your mailbox and on the way back you stopped and chatted with Liz in the driveway – the good old days. You are loved and missed.

Our trips to buy our favorite flowers, our long talks, our laughs and our sometime disagreement (who should drive), your concerns and care for me will keep me comforted. You were so independent and loved your garden.  I know that heaven will have a beautiful garden for you to work in.  I will love to see it when I get there.

Dear Grandma,

Even though we spent my whole life living very far apart, we visited you many times when I was a little girl - boy did I loved those trips - I always felt so at home in your house and always knew you loved us dearly. 

But i have to say my best memories have been made in the past 10 years. Knowing your grandma as an adult is a blessing not many people get to experience. Visiting you and hanging out for weeks on end enriched me beyond words but I will try: 

From shopping, to rummy tiles to chit chatting while watching TV. We often spoke so honestly and I felt I truly got to know you as a person not just as a grandma. I came to see how amazingly similar we are and for all of that I am eternally honoured and grateful. 

You were a remarkable lady, full of strength, tenacity, mischief, integrity, love and intelligence. This is all proven by the impression you made on my husband of 8 years - Philippe. He has grown to love you as his own and he often tells stories about how amazing you are to all our friends. I know we will continue to tell these stories which will ensure your great granddaughter Lucille knows who you were. 

Grandma I know how much you hated good byes and I know you will always be with us, watching over us so this is not a good bye but a small note to say I love you and although you are not physically on this earth any more you will live on in my heart and in the hearts of Philippe and Lucille - we will always love you and will miss you greatly.
