

Nellie (Brockell) McEver, 84, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Born Nellie Virginia Gladwell and known affectionately by friends and family as "Tippy," Nellie found comfort and joy in the home she cherished.
Nellie was born in a small town in Virginia in 1941, the third of ten children. From a young age, she demonstrated an incredible work ethic and a fierce drive to excel in everything she pursued. She was a stellar student with a deep passion for sports. In high school, she was a true force of nature, proudly serving as head majorette, head cheerleader, and captain of her basketball team.
After moving to Florida, Nellie began working for Circle K. Through sheer determination and her extraordinary work ethic, she quickly rose through the ranks to become the regional manager for East Central Florida, a testament to her dedication and leadership abilities.
Nellie will be remembered for her amazing love for her family, her generosity to anyone in need, and for being a very classy and stylish lady.
Nellie is survived by her loving husband, Mike McEver. She leaves behind her two children: Joni and her husband Clif Duy, and her son Bill Brockell. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Kyle and his wife Angela Brockell, Sean Stirtzinger, Claire Brockell, Sarah Brockell, Megan and her husband Nash Cole, and Nick Duy. She was a proud great-grandmother, known as "Gigi," to Mila, Luca, Liah Brockell, Warren Cole, and Zavier Duy.
A visitation service will be held at the Life Event Center At Florida Memorial Gardens located at 5950 S US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The following day, Friday, December 12, 2025, there will be a celebration of Nellie's life at the Eau Gallie First Baptist Church located at 1501 W Eau Gallie Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935.
