

She was born September 4, 1931 in Knoxville, TN to the late Wilfred and Eva Bowman Davis. The youngest of five children and the only girl, Pat spent her youth in Knoxville, TN. She attended Knoxville area schools and graduated in 1949 from Knoxville High School. Pat continued her education, attending Training School in Virginia, majoring in Home economics and singing in the Chorus.
She met the love of her life West Humphrey Armistead, Jr. and on June 1, 1957 they were married. They were married almost 46 years when West passed in 2003. Their marriage was blessed with three children and the family lived in several states as West pursued his Electrical Engineering career, settling in Satellite Beach , FL in 1965 when West became an Engineer at Kennedy Space Center.
The family became charter Members of Trinity Presbyterian Church ( Trinity Wellsprings Church) where Pat sang soprano in the church choir, was active in the Women’s Circle Ministry, Women’s Aglow ministry, and the Head Start Program. She taught Sunday School and Bible School throughout the years. Most of all , Pat was a faithful Prayer Warrior as she prayed unceasingly for her family and her church .
Pat was a talented artist in the mediums of pastels and oils, creating many beautiful paintings of her beloved mountains and other stunning landscapes .
In 1999 West and Pat retired to Black Mountain, NC and last year Pat returned to her beloved Florida.
Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband West, her parents and four brothers William (Billy) Davis, Wilfred Davis, Earl Davis and Alan Davis, her granddaughter Michelle Anne Lewis and her son-in-law Stanley Brucker.
Left to carry on Pat’s legacy and cherish her memory are her three children: Nancy (Earl) Dixon, Vero Beach, FL; John Armistead, Orlando, FL; and Ellen Armistead Brucker , Titusville, FL.
Seven grandchildren: Michael Lewis (Kendra), Holly Van der Westhuizen (Riaan), Randall Lewis (Liz), and Jordan Harper. Leslie Williams, Tieriney Dixon, and Leslie Earl Dixon Jr.(Alexis)
Twelve great grandchildren: Kyle, Starr, Ella, Landon, Alexis, Evan, Breana, Griffin, Sadie , Reed, Nolen and Ellie (Ellannette). And two great great grandchildren: Penelope and Stella.
Island Cremations and Funeral Home in Merritt Island is in charge of final arrangements and a Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Wellsprings Church in Satellite Beach, FL with times and dates to be determined.
