Patsy Asbury Shannon of Melbourne, FL passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at the age of 83. She was surrounded by loved ones and her beloved cats, Ollie and Olive. Pat was born in Clay, WV, and later moved to Melbourne, FL in 1967.
Professionally, Pat was an electronics technician and later in life worked as a real estate agent. Pat’s true life’s work, however, was as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and cat mom, and a friend to all. She was an ambitious silversmith and a beloved member of the Canaveral Mineral & Gem Society, and a founding member of the up-and-coming Alley Cats bowling team. She was adventurous, kind, quick-witted, and loved with all her heart. Pat never knew a stranger, and to know Pat was to love and be loved by her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chief Petty Officer Gordan Shannon and son, Technical Sergeant Bobby Miller, both of Melbourne, FL; father, Ralph Asbury (Helen) of Birch River, WV; and mother, Reva Asbury Snodgrass (Frank) of Clover, WV. She is survived by her son, Allan Miller (Gina) of Clover, WV; her daughter, Missy Miller of Port St. John, FL; her grandchildren Ryan (Megan) and Brian Miller both of Spencer, WV, and Amber (Robert) Ashley of Reedy, WV; her sister Peggy Asbury Kelly (Joe Urich) and brother Ed Asbury (Tammie) both of Melbourne, FL; uncle Jerry Nelson (Verneda) of Clay, WV; aunt Nancy Lamby (Roger) of Elkins, NC; five great grandchildren; fifteen nieces and nephews; and many close friends who love her dearly.
Visitation will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens (5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL) on Monday, April 27 from 10-11 AM with entombment services to follow.
