On Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the age of 79 years old, Paul L. Jones, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, gained his angel wings. He was born in French Camp, California, on March 10, 1944, and moved to Florida when he was a teenager. A graduate of Cocoa High School, he went on to serve in the US Army as a Medical Technician.
After his time in the service, he worked for Trans World Airlines at Kennedy Space Center where he met his wife, Marianne. He then went on to earn his degree in Special Education from the University of Central Florida. He worked for Brevard County School Board as a special education teacher for 33 years. He served as a teacher and football coach at Jefferson Junior High and ended his career at Kennedy Middle School. Although he was often referred to as “Coach” or “Mr. Jones” when out in the community, his top priority was always his family.
He met his beautiful wife, Marianne, in 1966 and, little did he know, she knew he would be her husband. They married on October 5, 1968, in Cocoa Beach, Florida and spent 54 wonderful years together. They enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with their family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne; daughter, Lori Danford; son, Allen Jones (Bahar); daughter, Dawn Allen (Eric); Granddaughter, Allison Jones-Rotondo (Nick); Grandsons, Christian Danford and Colton Allen.
A visitation gathering will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, with a Celebration of Life following at 11:00 am.
