

Born on September 12, 1935, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Raymonde was the second of four children born to Magdalena Suprina Lacoste and Dr Felix Lahens. Raymonde completed her early education at École Celine Lilavois and continued at École Caroline Chevreau, where she earned her Brevet.
At the age of 18 Raymonde married Andre Alexandre, and at 19 , she immigrated to the United States, settling in Manhattan, New York. She enrolled at Monroe Business School in the Bronx and worked as a Data Entry Clerk at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Together Raymonde and Andre raised four children: Ernst, Jo-Ann, Margaret, and Mildred.
Raymonde Alexandre is survived by her brother Dr. Pierre Lahens who resides in Montreal, Canada and her sister Marie Jose Hazel who resides in New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her older brother Kesner Lahens and her twin brother Daniel Lahens.
Her core attribute was her foundational belief in her family. First with her siblings and always with her children and grandchildren. As a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friends she supported her loved ones through every passion, challenges, and successes. She made it her mission to inspire the lives of others. To that end she lovingly welcomed into her home and heart her son David Sanon , and Regine Lubin Aubourg embracing them as her own.
In 1973 she dedicated her life to her God Jehovah as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in Brooklyn Bethel. She became known by many in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Canada and Haiti as a devout and faithful Christian . Her passion was “Preaching the Good news of God’s kingdom “ and the wonderful hope of the future.
Our beloved Raymonde was fondly known to many by these affectionate names such as Mondie, Ramona, Belle Maman, madan Doudou, Madame Alexy, Manman Cherie’m nan, Ramona Nana, depending on who was by her side.
She is survived by her beloved children, Ernst Alexandre, Jo-Ann Alexandre, Margaret Alexandre Marc and Mildred Alexandre Forbes. Her grandchildren, Reuben Sherwyn Forbes, Hillary Ariel Alexandre, Brianna Abigail Alexandre and Alexa Rayande Gutierrez. Her nieces and nephews Rudy Lahens, Thierry Lahens, Daphney Lahens Chartrand, Jason Hazel, and Darwin Hazel. She is also survived by her sons in law, Chester Sherwin Forbes, Gene Marc . Her former daughter in law Sonia Lorquet Alexandre and former son in law Donald Gutierrez.
Raymonde will be missed by those who loved and cherished her. The hole left by Raymonde’s passing will be felt by her cousins, Mr and Mrs Claude Lacoste , Lori, Stephanie, Claudymir, Lionel Lacoste, Marie Charlotte, Junie,and Maggie Pierre Louis. Her sisters in law, Nicole Theophile Lahens, Helene Alexandre Jerome. Her brother in law Ian Hazel. Her step children Andre Alexandre Moise and Gary Alexandre.

Her faith bore fruit in the lives of many, including her daughter Mildred Forbes, her grandson Reuben Sherwyn Forbes, her son David Sanon, her cherished daughter Barbara Sanon, her daughter Regine Lubin Aubourg , her brother Dr Pierre Lahens, her sister in Law Nicole Lahens, her nephews Rudy Lahens, Thierry Lahens, her niece Daphney Lahens, among many others. Her confidence in the resurrection was unwavering.
Her favorite songs included “Jehovah, My Father, My God and Friend”, “Jehovah is My Shepherd“, “The Meditation of My Heart.”
A visitation gathering for Raymonde will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A committal will occur Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955.
