Sally S. Gabeler (Sutliff), 95, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2020, at home in Melbourne, Florida, following a long illness. Born in Gloversville, New York the daughter of Charles and Florence Sutliff (Dewitt), Sally was a member of the Gloversville High School Class of 1943, where she met the love of her life, William Gabeler. During summer vacations, the Gabelers traveled with circuses, including Clyde Beatty & Cole Brothers, Mills Brothers, Kelly Miller, and Carson & Barnes circuses.
Sally will always be known as everyone’s Mom, Gram, and Mimi. Her love for her family was evident and limitless. She always lit up at the sight of family members. Sally kept her family close and was always available to help her family, encourage them, and let them know when they may have altered from what she felt was the right path.
If roses grow in Heaven Lord
Please pick a bunch for us.
Place them in our Mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from us.
Tell her that we love and miss her
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her check
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
We do it every day.
But there is an ache within our hearts that will never go away.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William R. Gabeler; son James W. Gabeler; and grandson John G. Logan Jr.
