Sheila Altizer Wiest

Sheila Lynn Altizer Wiest, a longtime resident of Brevard County, passed away peacefully at her home in Palm Bay on December 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 14, 1965, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sheila later moved to Brevard County, where she graduated from Eau Gallie High School.

Sheila was a self-employed professional who found joy in outdoor activities and cherished spending time with her family. A compassionate soul, she was also a dedicated member of a local animal rescue team. Known in her community for her kindness and genuine nature, Sheila wore her heart on her sleeve and touched the lives of everyone she met.

Sheila was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael. She is survived by her long-time spouse, William Wiest, and their children and their spouses: William Wiest Jr. (Tina), Tina Wiest (Will), and Dana Wiest (Michael). Sheila was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren: Javier, Jr., Mia, Xavier, and Xander, and she looked forward to the blessing of more grandchildren.

Raised in a large, loving family, Sheila shared a close bond with her one brother, three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and community forever.

A visitation for Sheila will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
