

She is survived by her husband of 60 plus years, Bill DeVinney; her son, Jody DeVinney (Diana); daughter, Michele DeVinney; Five grandchildren, Shelby Malone, Brittany (John) Snyder, Casey, Wesley and Josh DeVinney; three great-grandchildren, Zoey Michele Hodges, Brody and Blair Snyder; borthers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Kathie DeVinney of Pennsylvania, Tad and Vi DeVinney of Maryland; nieces, Cindy (Bruce) Patz, Velvete (Vic) Schultz, Chris DeVinney, Wendy Saliga, Helen DeVinney (Phil Gloninger); nephews, Joe (Joni) Dixon, Brian (Raechel) DeVinney; many great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Billy DeVinney; mother, Sally Cowan Allen; father, Joseph B. Dixon, Sr.; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph B. Dixon, Jr. (Pete) and Shelby J. Dixon of Pennsylvania.
Shelby graduated cosmetology school and was a stylist until she became a full time mother. When her children started school, she became an active volunteer in the American Red Cross, Grey Ladies. PTO, room mother and Little League. She was an avid reader, but her passion was sewing. She will be remembered by many brides for making custom bridal gowns, wedding party dresses and accessories. She made a custom Tuxedo jacket for her son Jody’s wedding along with Diana’s gown. She loved to teach people how to sew, which she taught at Johnson Middle School, Eau Gallie High School and was on call for sewing problems, making her a reputable and well known seamstress locally.
Shelby will be remembered by family and friends as always being there for them and helping in any way she could. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed their basketball, little league games, competition roller skating and cheerleading, of which she missed very few games.
