Originally from South Florida, she was well known for being two things. First, for being one of the first female owner/operator tow truck drivers. And secondly, for being Ray girl #3. She relocated to Brevard County, Florida in 1998 where she met her loving husband, James Killingsworth. He proposed on Christmas 1999, where she replied “in a heartbeat” and they married three days later. Upon retirement in 2011, Vicki and James moved to his hometown of Selma, Alabama where they spent most of their time buying and reselling at the Selma flea market. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, baking and had a green thumb for gardening. She loved spending the summers with her grandchildren.
Vicki adored her family and friends more than anything in this world. She was beautiful inside and out. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile and the way she lit up every room she entered. Her kindness had no limits and her ability to forgive was remarkable.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Killingsworth, daughters: Cara (and Scott) Cook, Michelle (and Edmund) Leviste, Lisa (and Greg) Richardson; step-son: Scoot (James W.)(and Rebekah) Killingsworth; step-daughter: Dana (and CJ) DiDonato; Grandchildren: Alexis, Jacob-Mason, Mary-Kate, Ashleigh, Elijah, Kyle, Rocco, Payton, Gage, Collin, Jaxon, Jason, Makayla, Chase, Willow and great granddaughter, Brooklyn; Nine Sisters: Terry, Debi, Jaimie, Lori, Sascha, Laura, Jennifer, Robin, and Amber; One brother: Eddie; and over forty nieces/nephews and grand-nieces/nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen Ray Deardoff.
Vicki will be cremated and her remains will be placed at Florida Memorial Gardens in Florida.
Service will take place on May 14, 2022 at 1pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens. Immediately followed by her celebration of life at Thirsty Bone’s in Merritt Island, 221 Crockett Blvd, Merritt Island, 32953.
When my mother passed her most favorite saying finally made sense, “life’s about changing, nothing ever stays the same”. She will be truly missed by all and forgotten by none.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FloridaMemorialFH-Gardens.com for the Killingsworth family.
